COVID-19 Regulations when traveling to Namibia



When traveling to Namibia, remember:

  • Visitors entering Namibia are required to present a 7-days negative PCR on arrival in English (calculated from the time sample was taken). Antigen Rapid Diagnostic test results are not accepted! This requirement also applies to anyone who has been vaccinated against COVID-19.
  • Whilst it is prohibited to travel between the various regions throughout Namibia, persons entering for tourism purposes are permitted to proceed with their activities, subject to travel itinerary to be presented to authorized officials at points of entry or roadblocks. Drivers and tour guides accompanying tourist will be required to obtain the necessary permits. 
  • Any person presenting fake SARS COV-2 PCR test results will be prosecuted. Any non-Namibian who presents fake or forged SARS COV-2 PCR test results to an official at any Port of Entry will be denied entry into Namibia and will be deported at own cost.
  • Points of entry remain Hosea Kutako International Airport, Walvis Bay International Airport and all major land and sea borders.
  • A health questionnaire and surveillance form must be completed upon entry.
  • Before travelling, it is recommended that you ensure your travel insurance includes COVID-19 treatment.
  • Airlines flying into / out of Namibia include Ethiopian Airlines and Eurowings (Lufthansa).
  • A face mask must be worn to cover the nose and mouth when in a public place, vehicle and / or aircraft.
  • Curfew hours are between 21:00 and 04:00.
  • Before returning to your home country, please check on any re-entry requirements, as well protocols of the airline.
