Make a Difference

A portion of NAPHA medal sales funds the Hunters Support Education Nature Awareness Project and supports the association's efforts in promoting ethical and sustainable hunting. NAPHA medals symbolise recognition and honour for hunters who exhibit exceptional skills and ethical practices.

Animals that are simply too small but not past their prime, show no deformities, or were taken for conservation reasons (e.g., due to sickness), do not qualify for a Conservation Medal.

Horned Species

  • Measurement A: Length of the longest horn

  • Measurement B: Circumference of the longest horn

  • Additional Measurements: Applicable only to certain species — please refer to the Additional Measurement section below.


Predators

  • Measurement A: Skull length

  • Measurement B: Skull width

  • Additional Measurements: Not applicable; leave this field blank.


Tusked Species

  • Measurement A: Tusk length

  • Measurement B: Tusk width

  • Additional Measurements: Not applicable; leave this field blank.


Elephant

  • Measurement A: Tusk length

  • Measurement B: Tusk width

  • Additional Measurements: Tusk weight


Crocodile

  • Measurement A: Total body length

  • Measurement B: Not applicable; leave this field blank

Additional Measurements (Species-Specific)

  • Damara Dik-dik, Grey Duiker, Klipspringer, Steenbok:

    Measure from the lowest point of the horn to the thickest part of the “zenith area.”

  • Cape Eland & Livingstone Eland:

    Measure from the lowest point of the horn, following the ridge, up to where the ridge merges.

  • Oryx (Gemsbok), Roan Antelope, Sable:

    Measure from the lowest point of the horn to the last complete “ornament ring section.”

  • Red Hartebeest:

    Measure from the lowest point of the horn to the last prominent “ornament ring section.”


Age Factor Coefficients

  • Immature: 0 (Disqualified)
